When you start to work for us, you have two options:
You can bid for work - i.e. choose the projects you're interested in and put yourself forward to complete them.
Or
You can be a 'staff writer'.
Staff writers are given a certain amount of work per week in their 'staff writer subject areas'. So let's say you're really confident at writing legal articles. Law is one of your staff writer subject areas. Let's say you agree to allow us to give you up to 5,000 words per week of work, in the subject of law. We can assign law projects to you, up to 5,000 words (which may be one or several projects) without you asking for them. And because we realise this means a bit of extra research on your part, we'll pay you more money for completing staff writer work.
The good news is that staff writers can also bid for work too - and you can pick different subjects for bidding and for staff writer work. You can also set different work levels.
